IRWA IN GOOD COMPANY AT THE APWA CONFERENCE

The IRWA enjoys 2^nd year at the 2006 American Public Works Conference held September 10-13 in Kansas City, MO.  The International Local Public Agency Committee along with assistance from Chapter 5 members staffed the IRWA membership booth during the APWA Conference.

Continuing to increase awareness of the right of way profession and foster new memberships was IRWA’s key goal for participating at the annual conference. A fair amount of interest was received from the conference attendees.  Most of the visitors were unaware of the Association and seemed very interested in the IRWA education courses. 

City agency names were obtained from those who expressed interest.  Those names will be forward to the local chapters for follow up to encourage membership. 

Continuing to expose IRWA to affiliated associates is the key to gaining membership.
